Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri.Tarun Gogoi had directed the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) to  adopt the National Policy on Urban Street Vendors, 2009 and passed the notification to the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) for including the Street vendors in Guwahati Master Plan and allocate proper vending sites. Mr.Shitangshu Taye, Program Coordinator  of NASVI met the Additional Commissioner,GMC and put forward the proposal for the adoption of the policy prior to the Chief Minister’s commencement for allocation of vending sites. We hope that the National Policy, 2009 will be adopted in Assam and proper vending sites will be allocated very soon.
